Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Or in the case of Lifetime‘s fall Ripped From the Headlines film lineup, watch all about it. The network is marking its milestone 500th original film with Murdaugh Murders: The Movie, according to Variety.

The network’s movie roster will showcase seven new original films based on or inspired by true stories, including its take on the murder case that gripped the nation earlier this year. The two-part movie is based on the recent trial of South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh, who was found guilty of murdering his wife Maggie and his son Paul in March.

Bill Pullman will star as the disgraced Murdaugh patriarch, alongside Lauren Robek, Curtis Tweedie and Donovan Stinson.

The rest of Lifetime’s film lineup appears to be just as star-studded; other releases this fall will feature child stars Emily Osment and Melissa Joan Hart, longtime Hallmark movie man Luke Macfarlane, and Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix.

“Even with all of Alex’s influence, he couldn’t prevent the Murdaugh Family’s legacy from being tarnished after Paul was involved in a boating accident that left a young girl dead,” the network said in a press release, per Entertainment Weekly.

The release continues, “while Maggie was consumed with what was happening with Paul, Alex was hiding his addiction to opioids and stealing insurance settlements from his own clients to fund his habit and the family’s lavish lifestyle. Then in June 2021, Maggie and Paul were found murdered, and eyes began to turn to Alex.”

Lifetime’s lineup will premiere in weekly Saturday night installments as follows: How She Caught a Killer (Sept. 16), Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard (Sept. 23), Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story (Sept. 30), Buying Back My Daughter (Oct. 7), Murdaugh Murders: The Movie, Bad Romance: The Vicky White Story (Oct. 21), and Would You Kill for Me? The Mary Bailey Story (Oct. 28).

Murdaugh Murders: The Movie premieres as part of a two-night event on Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
