How Many Episodes Are In Virgin River Season 5, Part 2?

Season 5, Part 1 of Virgin River consisted of 10 episodes, and Season 5, Part 2 will feature another two episodes, making a total of 12 episodes in Season 5.

What Will Virgin River, Season 5, Part 2 Be About?

Netflix confirmed that Episodes 511 and 512 will be “Holiday Episodes,” and though specific storylines remain under wraps, we can make some guesses based on Season 5, Part 1’s ending. As noted in Decider’s Episode 10 recap, the Part 1 finale ended with Mel taking Jack to the site of Tara’s family farm, which was set to become a golf course, unless — Mel proposed — they buy it and build a beautiful house to fill with kids. Jack agreed, and suggested the land would also serve as the perfect place to get married. So while we’re not sure we’ll get a Jack and Mel wedding in two episodes, we assume that storyline will continue to unfold in Part 2.

Before the end credits rolled on Episode 10, “Jingle Bells” started playing and we jumped forwards in time to December, where Mel and Jack were decorating for the holidays and Mel was having a life-changing phone call with her sister. Mel’s sister found a stack of old love letters addressed to their mom that suggest she was having an affair with someone in Virgin River and the mystery man might be MEL’S FATHER. So the final two episodes of Season 5 will likely show Mel’s search for her biological father.

Aside from Mel and Jack, we may see Doc getting ready for the clinical trial to help his macular degeneration, which starts in early January. He told Hope the trial carries a risk of vision loss, but without it, he’d go blind anyway, so it’s something he wants to pursue. In Episode 10, Lizzy also told Denny she thought she was pregnant, so we have that news to unpack. Kaia’s’s boss found a dead body during wildfire cleanup, and Preacher fears it’s the body of Paige’s abusive ex, Wes, who Preacher buried in the woods earlier in the series. And Cam and Muriel are giving their romance a real shot, so here’s hoping they’re still together for the holidays.

Brady and Brie officially called it quits in Season 5, so we’ll check in on her relationship with Mike and Brady’s budding romance with Hazel’s mom. And, oh yeah, HAS CHARMAINE GIVEN BIRTH YET? Why does it feel like she’s been pregnant for years? Episode 10 revealed the father of her twins, so we’re a bit worried to see how that relationship develops. But through all the drama, here’s hoping we’ll get to see the folks of Virgin River find some temporary peace in wholesome holiday celebrations.

Virgin River is now streaming on Netflix.
