If you saw the news that No Hard Feelings is coming to Netflix next week on September 23, don’t mark your calendars just yet… unless you live in India.

Despite a widely-shared report from the X (formerly known as Twitter) account Film Updates, a Netflix representative confirmed to Decider on Monday that the Jennifer Lawrence comedy, No Hard Feelings, will not be available on Netflix in the U.S. on Saturday, September 23.

The representative clarified that No Hard Feelings will be on “Netflix India only” on September 23, but that the movie will not be on Netflix U.S., nor on Netflix in any other territories, on that date. Time to cancel those movie night plans.

But don’t despair. While we don’t yet know when No Hard Feelings will be on Netflix in the U.S.—or any other non-India territories, for that matter—we can assume that the comedy will be on Netflix U.S. before the end of the year. That assumption is based on the fact that Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures, the studio behind No Hard Feelings, that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window (meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release).

Another Sony movie, The Pope’s Exorcist, came to Netflix about four months after it was in theaters. If No Hard Feelings follows a similar release strategy, you may see it on Netflix very soon—as early as October 2023.

But that’s all speculation. There is not yet an official No Hard Feelings Netflix release date for the U.S. at this time. You can still watch No Hard Feelings at home by buying or renting the movie on digital platforms on Amazon Prime. Right now, the movie costs $19.99 to buy, or $5.99 to rent. That’s a small price to pay for arguably the best nude scene of the decade, right?
