Oo-oo-oo-oo. Jamie Lynn Spears may want to turn to her older sister, Britney Spears, for some dancing tips. On this morning’s episode of Good Morning America, it was announced that the Zoey 101 alum will be joining Dancing with the Stars Season 32.

Spears — who recently starred in Paramount+‘s Zoey 102 movie as well as Netflix‘s Sweet Magnolias Season 3 — will compete alongside pro-dancer Alan Bersten. The star also revealed that she would be donating her salary to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA — both of whom have been on strike since May and July, respectively.

“I don’t know if one could ever be 100% ready to take on something this big. I didn’t realize what a commitment it is, but it definitely is,” she told GMA. “I’m ready to challenge myself.”

Spears continued, “I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work. I figured I’ll do this and I will donate my weekly salary to SAG, WGA and just give back to them at a time where they can’t even give to themselves.”

The mom-of-two pointed out that she was “so surprised” that her 15-year-old daughter Maddie was “very motivated” for her to join the hit dance competition show.

“She was like, ‘Mom, you have to do it.’ She’s an athlete, I think she kinda wanted to see me push myself,” she said, before later adding, “Even if I embarrass myself, I’m doing it for a good reason and hopefully giving back to a community that has literally given back to me since I was a little girl.”

Spears has already had her first rehearsal with Bersten, who said she was “great” to work with and referred to her as “so hard-working and so dedicated … and so much fun.”

The actress will join Vanderpump Rules fan-favorite Ariana Madix as well as Bachelorette star Charity Lawson on the ballroom floor as they vie for the iconic Mirrorball trophy. The full cast is set to be announced on Wednesday (Sept. 13).

Dancing with the Stars Season 32 will premiere on ABC and Disney+ on Sept. 26. New episodes will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
