Kid Cudi recently opened up about a grudge he held for a whole year. During a Q & A he held on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) on Friday (Sept. 8), one fan asked the Grammy award-winning rapper, “What’s one film role that you wished you were cast in?”

He revealed the film to be Get Out, Jordan Peele‘s 2017 psychological horror film.

“I wish I got Get Out,” he replied to the fan. “I auditioned and Jordan [Peele] was impressed and I thought I ate that shit up.”

He even said he “was so salty [he] didn’t get it that [he] didnt even go see it in the theater when it was poppin.”

“I watched it a year later at home,” he admitted, adding that he was “pissed about that.”

It also turns out that he was not up for just any role, but for the lead role of Chris Washington, which ultimately went to Daniel Kaluuya. However, he didn’t appear to have any hard feelings for the actor and praised Kaluuya as the “best choice” for the part.

“Hes a master and did a phenominal job,” he wrote.

Nonetheless, Cudi earned his own movie moment this year. Known for his album Man on the Moon, he lived up to the title through starring in Crater, a sci-fi film that was mysteriously removed from Disney+ less than two months following its release. In the movie, he plays Michael, who encourages his son Caleb (Isaiah Russell-Bailey) to embark on a journey and explore a mysterious crater on the moon.

During the Q & A, he was asked what the “father/son dynamic” meant to him while filming the movie.

“Everything,” Kudi, who is father to daughter Vada, responded. “Its why i took the role. Cant wait to have my own son one day.”

Get Out is streaming on Peacock.
