Thursday Night Football makes its long awaited return to Prime Video tonight with the Vikings visiting the Eagles, and with it comes the debut of seven new artificial intelligence (AI) features meant to enhance your football watching experience.

Prime Video is the official home of Thursday Night Football this season, so you’ll need to be a Prime member to watch the game and any AI enhancements along with it.

If football strategy, statistics, and deep dives interest you, you’re definitely going to want to take advantage of all the new features Prime Video has to offer this season.

So, what are these AI enhancements?

Great question, let us tell you all about it!

You’ll be able to check out all of the new enhancements via Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats. This is an alternate stream to the main game that lets viewers take an even deeper look at real-time location, speed, and acceleration data points for every player on the field.

The data comes to life using on-screen graphics that illustrate developments and metrics as the game evolves.

The first feature, Prime Targets, lets users visualize developing plays the same way a quarterback would and provides statistics based on previous plays to highlight which receivers are most likely to convert a first down.

4th Down Decision Guide puts you in the shoes of the coaches. Using machine learning, this feature calculates the probability of success for both touchdowns and punts when a team is on fourth down.

Defensive Alerts analyzes the patterns of defense and identifies “players of interest” that are most likely to rush the opposing quarterback.

If you want to keep the main feed on, but still take advantage of some features, Key Plays is available within the game. It allows you to tailor your experience so you can watch game highlights and key moments on demand.

Rapid Recap is for the people who join the game in progress. AI compiles up to 13 different game highlights and replays them for you in a package that’s less than two minutes total.

Prime Video has taken their X-Ray feature, which users might recognize from streaming TV shows and movies, and gave it a football twist. Watch the game with on-screen stats for individual players, plus the ability to shop team merch and recap plays.

The seventh and final AI enhancement is Pressure Probability which will debut later this season. Focused on the quarterback, see the pressure on the QB and how that evolves after the snap in real time.

If you just want to watch the game, of course you have that option, but for those looking to gain more insights on the plays and players, this new, optional feed will allow you to tailor your streaming experience.
