Howie Mandel is not done busting Sofia Vergara‘s chops about her divorce from Joe Manganiello.

Last night’s (Sept. 13) episode of America’s Got Talent featured a Sonic Tot Seat, where one lucky (or unlucky) judge could volunteer to sit upon the throne completely constructed of (fake) tater tots. Simon Cowell volunteered Vergara, who popped a squat in the Tot Seat alongside host Terry Crews and was hooked up to a lie detector on stage.

“What could they possibly ask me that they need a lie detector?” she asked.

However, Mandel knew just the question. Following a series of silly questions from Heidi Klum and Cowell, Mandel asked, “Do you see anybody in the audience tonight that you’re interested in?”

As hopeful suitors in the audience began volunteering themselves, Vergara exclaimed, “That’s it, that’s it,” ripping off the lie detector armband, having had enough with the game.

Mandel has been taunting Vergara on the show since she and Manganiello filed for divorce in July. However, he told the Daily Mail that Vergara has “got a good sense of humor about it.”

“I would not do it if I felt in any way that I would be offending her even in the slightest,” he told the outlet, noting, “she’s just a funny person.”

“She’s probably — all kidding aside — one of the smartest, funniest people that I have met,” he gushed to the outlet. “Everybody’s got a really good sense of humor on this, but she knows what she’s doing, and she’s got a really good sense of humor.”

He acknowledged that “even though [he’s] getting in trouble a little bit online for digging at her circumstances right now, [Vergara’s] always the first one to laugh.”

We’ll take his word for it!

America’s Got Talent airs episodes Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC. Next-day streaming is available on Peacock.
