‘Elemental’ Is Disney+’s Biggest Premiere of 2023 — Stream It For Less

Disney and Pixar’s latest feature film Elemental premiered on Disney+ less than one week ago, and today, Disney announced that the film became the streamer’s most watched movie premiere of 2023 in just five days.

Since debuting on the platform on September 13, Elemental earned 24.6 million views. In this case, a view is defined as the total streaming time divided by the movie’s run time.

It marks Disney+‘s biggest movie premiere of 2023, and the biggest animated movie premiere since Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red hit Disney+ in March 2022.

Elemental, follows a fiery young woman (literally) and a guy made of water, and takes place in a city where fire, water, air, and land residents co-exist, premiered in theaters June, and though it had a relatively low box office return during its opening weekend, the film caught on both domestically and internationally, grossing over $480 million.

It currently holds a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and received an “A” CinemaScore by moviegoers. Decider contributor John Serba praised Elemental‘s visuals and gave the movie a Stream It in his review.
