People are raising eyebrows at a newly resurfaced clip from Russell Brand‘s appearance on The Tonight Show, where host Jimmy Fallon seemingly scolds him for acting inappropriately toward American Idol alum Katharine McPhee.

In the 2013 clip, Brand — who was recently accused of “rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse” by four different women — refuses to move over to a different seat as McPhee comes onto the stage.

When Fallon tells him to move out of his chair, McPhee playfully sits on his lap as Brand declares, “Katharine is welcome to sit here!” and wraps his arms around her waist.

“No, she’s not! No. Trust me. Don’t do this! Don’t say, ‘For the Queen,'” Fallon begs, before Brand calls out, “For the Queen!”

By this point, McPhee appears visibly uncomfortable as she tries to remove herself from his lap — however, he seemingly pulls her back down to his thighs, before finally letting her go free.

“You’re beautiful. I’ll just sit here — with my sexual charisma,” he tells McPhee as he finally stands up from his seat, to which she replies, “Oh my gosh. This is all too much for just the first 30 seconds. Wow.”

Over the weekend, The Sunday Times published a scathing exposé of the British comedian. In it, he was accused of sexual assault by four different women between the years of 2006 and 2013.

One woman, who was 16 when she was seeing Brand (then in his 30s), claimed he was “emotionally and sexually abusive” during their three-month relationship. According to her, he allegedly “forced his penis down her throat” causing her to choke during one instance, and removed a condom during intercourse without her knowledge during another.

A separate alleged victim claimed she was raped by the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star in 2012 at his Los Angeles home, while another — who alleged that he had sexually assaulted her in his West Hollywood home in 2013 — claimed he threatened to take legal action if she ever spoke publicly about it.

In a social media post made to Instagram, Brand — who was married to Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012 — “absolutely refutes” the “astonishing” and “egregious” accusations.

“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream media, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies,” he said. “And as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous. Now during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then — almost too transparent — and I’m being transparent about it now as well.”
