Jenna Bush Hager Revealed She Almost Got A Destiny’s Child Tattoo On Her Back To Get Through A “Terrible” Breakup On ‘Today With Hoda & Jenna’

Jenna Bush Hager‘s wild past has been well-documented by the tabloids, but the Today co-host just dished some fresh info on the hilarious way she once dealt with a breakup when she was younger.

Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb began Thursday’s broadcast of Today With Hoda & Jenna discussing Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello‘s recent divorce. While the co-hosts agreed sometimes you just want to stay home and feel “crummy” after a breakup, it also helps to have a friend drag you out of the house.

“I actually remember that moment with a terrible breakup — I actually ended up getting back with that person about 47 times — but my friend Tracy was like, ‘It’s enough already, get up,'” Bush Hager recalled. “We went out and we danced and I almost got ‘Survivor’ tattooed onto my back.”

This news shocked Kotb, who yelled, “Wait, what?!”

Needless to say, she wasn’t a fan of the idea … just look at her reaction:

“The Destiny’s Child song was popular [at the time],” Bush Hager explained. “We actually went to the tattoo parlor on 6th Street and thank you, Jesus, it was closed. Imagine me with ‘Survivor’ tattooed on my back?”

Kotb added, “I love Tracy, she dragged you out even though you didn’t want to. Everybody needs that friend.”

Bush Hager’s admission comes not long after a recent discussion about “sliding into people’s DMs” on Today, during which Kotb scrolled through her personal inbox to see if any eligible bachelors had tried to shoot their shot.

“I can’t date that way, but you could,” Bush Hager suggested at the time.
