The final season of Netflix’s Sex Education cements the show’s legacy as an all-time streaming great. Is it a perfect season of television? No, of course not. Are there a few too many characters/storylines? Probably. But everyone, no matter their age, gender, or sexual preference, can find something or someone they relate to in the final season. Sex Education once again examines the universal feeling of insecurity and wraps it in a warm blanket of hope and understanding.
Plus, it’s just really freaking funny.
As we mentioned above, the final season features an array of interesting new characters — including Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, Jodie Turner-Smith, and comedian Hannah Gadsby. But what about a few of our favorites from previous seasons? Are Olivia, Lily, Ola, and Ms. Sands in Season 4 of Sex Education? Here’s everything you need to know.
Is Olivia (Simone Ashley) In Sex Education Season 4?
Nope. Sadly, the Bridgerton star doesn’t appear in the new season. Both Olivia and Anwar (Chaneil Kular) decided not to attend Cavendish Sixth Form College.
Is Lily (Tanya Reynolds) In Season 4 of Sex Education?
That’s a negative. Lily, Ola (Patricia Allison), and Jakob Nyman (Mikael Persbrandt) aren’t in the final season of Sex Education.
“I’m not [returning], actually, which is sad, very sad,” Reynolds told RadioTimes.com back in July. “It’s just the natural progression of these shows – when you have such big ensemble casts and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing, the way it should happen.”
Okay… So Who DOES Appear In The Final Season of Sex Education?
We do have a bit of good news to report: Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham returns to reprise her role as Sofia Marchetti. Plus, while they only appear in one episode, beloved teachers Emily Sands (Rakhee Thakrar) and Colin Hendricks (Jim Howick) are in the final season.
Who’s New In The Sex Education Season 4 Cast?
Prepare to fall in love with a host of new students from Cavendish, including Felix Mufti (Roman), Anthony Lexa (Abbi), Alexandra James (Aisha), and Thaddea Graham (O). Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, Lisa McGrillis, Jodie Turner-Smith, comedian Hannah Gadsby, and Bella Maclean also appear in the new season.
