One Wheel of Fortune contestant was in for a sweet surprise on Thursday night’s (Sept. 21) episode of the long-running game show. After recalling a previous run-in with Vanna White, the contestant was hand-delivered a piece of cake from the iconic co-host herself.

Beryl New won the opening toss-up puzzle, before gushing over the time she met White at an airport in Myrtle Beach in 2015. As host Pat Sajak said, White is “unfailingly nice to people.”

“She was so kind. She let me take a picture with her. She was carrying a pound cake that her friend had made for her, taking it back home,” New remembered, before joking, “She wouldn’t share the pound cake. But she did share a picture.”

New went on to win the game with a whopping $28,400 and a shot at the bonus round. While she fell short on the puzzle and lost out on an additional $100,000, Sajak, White and the producers of Wheel of Fortune had a different prize cooked up for New.

“You ran into Vanna at an airport down in Myrtle Beach and she was very nice but she wouldn’t give you any of her pound cake,” Sajak reiterated. “Vanna, you need to make up for this! She brought you some pound cake. Here we go.”

White strutted out on the stage with a tasty-looking piece of cake for New, before apologizing for not offering up some of her own when they met nearly a decade ago.

“I’m sorry I didn’t give you any of my pound cake,” White said, to which New replied, “I don’t blame you.”

Meanwhile, Sajak snatched the cake from her hands and dug his fork in as he closed out the episode.

“Thank you very much, I appreciate it,” he said as he took the plate. “Anyway, we’ll see you next time.”

This is just the start of many more fun Wheel of Fortune moments to come for White, who reportedly extended her contract for another two years after scoring a “believed” pay raise. However, she’ll have to soak up all the time she has left with a retiring Sajak, who is set to be replaced with Ryan Seacrest following this season.
