We’ve seen a lot of dramatic events throughout the last four seasons of The Kardashians: Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian‘s feud over Dolce and Gabbana, Khloé Kardashian‘s emotional surrogacy journey with her second child, and Kim’s estranged relationship with ex-husband Kanye West, to name a few. But nothing quite tips the drama meter like Khloé’s irrational fear of whales, which fans get a glimpse of in the Season 4 premiere.

While vacationing in Cabo during whale season, Khloé is visibly uncomfortable as her family anticipates watching the sea creatures jump out of the ocean right from their villa.

“I’m really freaking out. He said they come close to the shore? Oh, my god. I feel like I’m gonna cry. I really can’t see that,” Khloé says, while Corey Gamble assures her that “they’re not gonna come in the pool.”

Still, the Good American founder sits squeamishly as ominous music fills the background, prompting Kris Jenner to explain in her confessional exactly what the heck is going on with her daughter.

“I can’t quite figure out where Khloé got this fear of whales,” the momager says. “The thought of a whale, the glance of a whale, the conversation of a whale, yeah. It had to have been somewhere in her childhood that I went really, really wrong somehow. I’m so sorry, Khloé.”

When the sisters head up to their room, Khloé decides to pull out a pair of binoculars and stare out into the ocean, as the Jaws-like music starts back up. Questioning Kim about the animals’ mating season — and subsequently slamming the idea as “sick” — Khloé says the whales are “way too close for my comfort.”

Eventually, the mom-of-two’s worst nightmare comes true and a whale thrusts itself out of the water, sending Khloé straight for the far back corner of the room as she tosses the binoculars and screams at the “terrible” sight. At one point, the reality star tries to justify her fear of whales, who have hearts “bigger” than school buses, according to a Snapple lid she once read.

“Off the coast of California, you didn’t hear about the couple that got swallowed by the fucking whale and got spit back out because it was an accident?” she asks in her confessional. “This fucking thing is so big. You don’t see it coming. There’s no ripples, there’s no warning. That’s weird.”

Khloé adds, “My daughter bullies me. She draws me photos of whales just to fuck with me and she thinks it’s so funny. Everyone turns into a fucking asshole at some point.”

Just when we thought the whale talk was over, Khloé further delves into her fears in the episode’s Marvel-esque post-credits scene.

“I don’t like deep open water. I don’t like dark water. I won’t go in a lake. I’m not bougie about a lot of things,” she says. “When it comes to water, I will be the bougiest motherfucker you’ve ever met. Just like, if I was lost at sea and on a raft and then I saw the eye — the eye of the whale. Oh, my god … It’s not for me.”

With all the traumas Khloé has gone through, who knew the worst would be a whale sighting?
