‘Family Feud’ Clip Goes Viral After Steve Harvey Accepted This Outrageously Bizarre Answer: “This Show Has No Boundaries”
Former Family Feud contestant Timothy “Tim” Bliefnick, who joked that marrying his wife was his “biggest mistake” while competing on the show in 2020, was recently sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife Rebecca. Now, he’s claiming the joke held no purpose other than to get some laughs.
As the subject of an upcoming 48 Hours special entitled “The Game Show and the Murder,” Bliefnick discussed the infamous joke that resurfaced following his arrest in March.
“The question was, ‘What is the number-one regret that people have from their wedding day?'” he remembered in the special’s sneak peek that was released earlier today. “It wasn’t said with any malice or bad intentions. It was supposed to be funny.”
The sneak peek also features interviews with investigators, who revealed that Bliefnick’s wife “was shot 14 times and there was one miss,” meaning that the murderer shot a total of 15 times.
A clip of the joke was also included in the teaser, in which Bliefnick replied that “said I do” was the “biggest mistake” people make on their wedding day. “Regretting marriage” ended up being the second most popular survey response on the board.
“Not my mistake!” he retorted to Family Feud host Steve Harvey during the episode. “I love my wife. I’m going to get in trouble for that, aren’t I?”
Harvey replied, “It’s going to be a lot of hell to pay at your house,” per CBS News.
Rebecca was found dead in her home Feb. 23 after not picking up her children from school. According to Entertainment Weekly, Bliefnick and his wife were in the midst of a divorce at the time of her murder. Bliefnick denied murdering his wife, whom he called Becky.
“The idea of murdering someone — let alone the mother of my kids — is not any part of who I am,” he said.
48 Hours: The Game Show and the Murder will air Saturday, Sept. 30, at 10/9c on CBS, and will be available to stream on Paramount+. Watch the sneak peek above.
