The ladies on The View had a lot to say about the first hearing into the impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden, which took place Thursday morning (Sept. 28). After accusations were torn apart that the POTUS had abused office for his family’s financial gain, the co-hosts collectively slammed the potential impeachment as “political pettiness.”

Following a video montage displaying the GOP’s lack of preparedness — and evidence — Joy Behar took the opportunity to compare Biden’s issues to Donald Trump‘s ongoing legal troubles.

“Trump has 91 felony accounts against him,” Behar pointed out. “He’s the only president ever charged with criminal activity so by all means, go after Joe Biden. They have nicht as they say. Nothing. Nada.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who spent time working for the former president’s administration, then speculated that he might not have reacted so well to how poorly the hearing went for those in favor of impeaching Biden.

“My first thought was: there is ketchup on the walls of Mar-a-Lago because Donald Trump could not have been happy with how that impeachment went,” she joked. “Their own witnesses, Jonathan Turley, admitted there’s no evidence.”

Griffin continued, “I believe Hunter Biden reeks to high heaven. I think there’s corruption there. He’s been indicted. He’s going to go through the judicial process. But if someone can tell me in three to four sentences what it is that Joe Biden did that rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors, I’m all for it. I did not hear that.”

To Sunny Hostin, this is all just a big scheme to distract Americans from Trump’s numerous charges.

“It’s just political pettiness,” she argued. “They have a twice-impeached, disgraced, one-term, quadruply-indicted former president. They want to sort of do the, ‘Don’t look over here, look over here,’ type thing. I think that’s what’s happening.”

Meanwhile, Ana Navarro slammed the hearing as an “embarrassment for Republicans,” before suggesting that they “regulate lobbying for family members of members of Congress” if they really want to solve the problem at hand.

“They have so much stuff on their face just from how bad they look, how badly prepared they look, how counterproductive their own very conservative expert witnesses were,” she said, before adding, “If they really want to address this, there is nobody arguing that what Hunter Biden did was cash in on his last name — but so did Jared Kushner. So did Ivanka [Trump]. So did Clarence Thomas. So did Ginny Thomas. And Bob Menendez.”

Before the segment ended, Griffin jumped back in with one final message to viewers.

“This impeachment inquiry is dead on arrival in the Senate. It’s privileged so the Senate will have to take it up,” she said. “There are no votes to impeach Joe Biden. So by that alone, it is a sham impeachment.”
