All is revealed in the Only Murders in the Building Season 3 finale when Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) unmask the real killer. So who was it? **Spoilers for Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 10 “Opening Night,” now streaming on Hulu**

In the penultimate episode of Only Murders in the Building Season 3, the gang figured out that Donna read an early pan of the show that singled Ben out as the production’s weak link. Donna then put poison on a Schmackary’s cookie that she left in Ben’s dressing room. The despondent actor ate the cookie, which led to his collapse on the stage. But does that mean she also pushed Ben to his death later in the Arconia?

Well, in the Only Murders in the Building Season 3 finale, Donna confesses to both poisoning Ben and later pushing him down the elevator shaft. It’s a neat and tidy confession. Almost too neat and tidy…

So did Donna kill Ben? Here’s everything you need to know about the end of Only Murders in the Building Season 3 on Hulu…

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Ending Explained: Who Killed Ben Glenroy?

Donna might have poisoned Ben, but her son Cliff is the one who pushed him to his death in the Arconia. She confessed to the crime to protect her boy — much like Loretta did when it looked like her biological son Dickie (Jeremy Shamos) was the culprit.

We learn that Cliff encountered Ben immediately after the actor learned that he had been poisoned. When Ben figures out that Donna poisoned him to protect her real star, her “Boy,” Cliff snaps. The two got into a scuffle that led to Cliff accidentally pushing Ben down the elevator shaft. Donna, who has stage four lung cancer, offered to take the fall.

This all comes to light when Mabel confronts Cliff in the hidden room above the rafters. Cliff threatens to jump to his death rather than go to prison, but his mother pulls him back. After a very strange curtain call, mother and son are carted out of the Gooseberry Theater by police.

We then learn that Oliver’s show received rave reviews. Loretta’s newly hot career is taking her out to Los Angeles (and Oliver is willing to visit her there). Tobert is also moving to Los Angeles, but Mabel declines the invitation to go there with him (but she’s also willing to visit). Finally, it seems that the gang might have another murder in the building to solve…

Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Mystery: Is Sazz Dead? Who Killed Sazz?

Hulu has confirmed that there will be a fourth season of Only Murders in the Building, which should have come as no surprise for fans. That’s because in true Only Murders style, the final moments of the Season 3 set up a whole new mystery.

This time, Charles’s beloved stunt double Sazz (Jane Lynch) is the victim. A sniper shoots her down in Charles’s apartment. Meaning it’s unclear if Sazz or Charles was the intended victim. The show even sets up the scene in such a way that it looks like Charles is the victim before it’s revealed that Sazz went into his apartment in his place to pick up more wine for the party.
