Jimmy Kimmel kicked off one of his first episodes back after the writers strike by addressing the recent news that the “MAGA nuts” have removed Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House. But he wasn’t buying Marjorie Taylor Greene’s suggestion for who should replace McCarthy.

“The Klan mom, Marjorie Taylor Greene, has a great idea. She thinks it should be Donald Trump,” Kimmel said.

The segment then cut to a clip of Rep. Greene appearing on Real America’s Voice, a right-wing cable channel.

“We want him back as president,” she said. “So why not make him Speaker of the House, even if it’s an interim speaker, while we work to find another speaker?” She then added that any other candidates gunning for Speaker of the House will only get her vote if they “beat President Trump.”

Kimmel shut down her idea. “He’s never going to sleep with you, Marge! Stop it, he’s a married man,” he said.

“Can you imagine this? There isn’t enough insanity in the House, they want to bring in Donald Trump to come settle things down,” Kimmel ranted.

The late-night host also pointed out Trump’s recent legal troubles, though that hasn’t swayed Republicans from considering him for the job. “The man has 91 felony counts against him and he’s in the middle of a $250 million fraud trial in New York,” Kimmel noted.

He then pointed out Trump’s alleged role in the Jan. 6 riot and the fraud charges he’s currently facing.

While speaking to reporters, Trump expressed that he was more focused on getting reelected as president.

“The same guy who sent hundreds of dangerous imbeciles to poop on the floor of that same building wants to help them through the process. I guess in some ways it makes sense, the Republicans need a Speaker, and with the way things are going through court, pretty soon Trump might need a house,” Kimmel quipped.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC. Watch last night’s monologue in the video above.
