Alyson Hannigan would never miss a chance to dance — even if she were throwing up just hours before she hit the dance floor.

On Tuesday night’s (Oct. 10) episode of Dancing with the Stars, co-host Julianne Hough revealed that the How I Met Your Mother star “woke up not feeling good” that morning.

“How are you feeling now?” Hough asked while speaking with Hannigan and her partner Sasha Farber following their foxtrot to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

“I’m so much better,” Hannigan exclaimed. “There was a lot of time on my bathroom floor this morning.”

She and Farber spoke with Entertainment Weekly after their performance — which garnered a score of 24 out of 40 possible points — and shared that prior to busting a move, she was experiencing a migraine, which led to her vomiting.

“I didn’t realize migraines can also cause you to just throw up anything in your body,” she told the outlet.

After “fill[ing] up all the things that were depleted” with “lots of electrolytes,” Hannigan was raring and ready to go. However, Farber noted that she kept “a big bucket next to her” throughout the day, which she brought to work.

“She had two partners this week,” Farber joked.

“I did,” Hannigan agreed. “I had the bucket and you had to pull over four times on the way to work. It’s pretty gross. I didn’t even know how I’d get here, let alone dance.”

Despite the rocky start, Hannigan’s performance proved to be a special one, as she explained that Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s soul tune held a special place in her heart as a mother.

“When I became a mother, I totally understood the meaning behind this song, that nothing will keep me from my babies,” she said in reference to her two daughters: Satyana Marie (14) and Keeva Jane (11).

“I want all that love and nostalgia to be poured into our foxtrot,” Farber noted. The longtime DWTS dancer even invited Hannigan’s daughters and husband, Alexis Denisof, to watch them rehearse their number.

“Having my girls here gave me such an extra boost,” she gushed. “I want to make them proud.

Both of her children and Denisof were cheering her on in the audience on Tuesday night.

Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. Watch Hannigan and Farber’s foxtrot above.
