Kelly Ripa Says Mark Consuelos Had To Toss Her A Napkin Under The Table Because She Was Sweating While Sitting Next To David Beckham On ‘Live’: “I Was Vibrating With Excitement”

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham have made fans out of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the longtime married couple recalled the time they were seated next to the soccer champion and his Spice Girl wife.

The conversation started with Ripa praising their new Netflix documentary, Beckham — which she called “so deep” and “interesting.” It prompted Consuelos — an obvious sports fan — to bring up the time they got to hang out with the couple.

“Do you remember when we sat next to them at a dinner?” he asked his wife. “It was downtown. It was a fashion dinner. It was an intimate dinner — it was like maybe 20 people there.”

According to Ripa, she was seated right next to David, while Consuelos was across the table.

“I was sweating so much that underneath the table, Mark threw me his napkin because I was literally vibrating with excitement,” she remembered, to which Consuelos replied, “Oh, that’s right!”

While Ripa was busy geeking out over the athlete, the Riverdale actor said he got to talk to him about sports —  even though they were at a fashion event.

“We stare at each other and I said, ‘Hey man.’ He goes, ‘Hey.’ I said, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of fashion talk.’ He said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Do you mind if I ask you questions about football?’ He goes, ‘Let’s do it,'” Consuelos explained. “I talked his ear [off]. I asked every deep question I wanted to know and he answered it. It was great.”

Meanwhile, Ripa joked that she “didn’t hear a single word uttered” as she was too starstruck by the “fascinating” celebrity.

This isn’t the first time she has publicly thirsted over David. On a previous episode of Live, Ripa opened up about the time he sat next to her at a SoulCycle class.

“I held my sweat inside of myself,” she said. “I don’t know where it went to this day. I’m sure I had some sort of a shutdown, like, a renal failure from holding the moisture inside my body because I did not want David Beckham to see me sweat.”
