‘Who The Bleep Is That?’ Host Jeff Dye Arrested On DUI Charges in California: Report

Comedian Jeff Dye was arrested in Burbank, California and charged with a DUI on Sunday (Oct. 8) morning.

According to People, the Burbank Police Department arrested the Who The Bleep Is That? host at 9:56 a.m. local time on Sunday and he was jailed about an hour after. He was released without bail at 1:04 p.m.

“Witnesses relayed the driver of a white Tesla collided with a tree and the driver fled on foot,” Sgt. Stephen Turner, a public information officer with the Burbank police, told the outlet. “Based on witness description, the driver was located just a few blocks east of the scene and detained pending [an] investigation.”

Turner also noted that “no other vehicles were involved, and nobody was injured.”

Andrew B. Leventhal, Dye’s lawyer, shared the following statement with People: “Although no one was injured, this is a traumatic event for Jeff. We ask that you reserve judgment and respect his privacy as I take care of this matter. He is presumed innocent.”

An anonymous source told the publication that people close with Dye are “concerned for him and hope he gets the help he needs.”

Dye’s comedy career took off following his time on NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2008, where he finished third. He became the host of MTV’s Numbnuts in 2010, and has since racked up a multitude of TV credits, including appearances in 21 episodes of Girl Code and becoming a series regular on Better Late Than Never alongside Terry Bradshaw, William Shatner, George Foreman, and Henry Winkler , per Entertainment Weekly.

He is slated to make his film debut in Stealing Jokes, per IMDb.

Dye also hosts two podcasts: Wrestling With Friends with co-host Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jeff Dye’s Friendship Podcast.

His most recent gig, the FOX comedy game show Who The Bleep is That?, debuted on March 6. The show invites contestants to “buzz in and correctly guess obscured images of celebrities,” per the official FOX synopsis.
