Oh, yes, it very much is. In fact, this story is so recent that you could feasibly still have copies of the newspapers in your house from which Lifetime ripped out these headlines. Alex Murdaugh was convicted of the June 2021 shooting and killing his wife and son on March 2, 2023. But that is but one of the many, many horrifying crimes that Alex Murdaugh committed (or is alleged to have committed). There are three other deaths that Murdaugh and his immediate family are possibly tied to, as well as allegations of embezzlement, money-laundering via drug dealing, sexual assault, tax evasion, and just a lot of fraud.
