Julia Fox just revealed the real reason she kicked Kanye West to the curb. In a preview clip for Wednesday’s (Oct. 18) episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress and mom-of-one said she dumped the rapper because she couldn’t handle having “two babies.”

While promoting her new memoir Down the Drain on the hit daytime talk show, Fox opened up to Drew Barrymore about her highly publicized relationship with West — whom she refers to in the book as “The Artist.” The two dated briefly in January 2022 after West bluntly asked her to be his girlfriend — only one day after they met.

“When I first met him, I literally thought nobody would ever hear about it,” she said. “Because a lot of the time you date these celebrities but they’re very hush-hush and they’re like, ‘Don’t post a picture in my bathroom!’ It’s very like that, so I kind of just thought it would be, like, a secret.”

Fox continued, “When it suddenly got ‘mysteriously leaked’ — it wasn’t me — I just really was not expecting that at all. “

After news broke of their relationship, the Uncut Gems star — who had a one-year-old at the time — said she decided to “embrace it.” While she wore the clothes and did what he said for a little while, she admitted she could only “do it for so long” because ultimately, West needed “a full-time person.”

“I had my son and then [West would] want to talk on the phone a lot and I’d have to change diapers,” Fox said. “I bought a pair of AirPods so I could keep it in while I was doing mom stuff. It was so overwhelming and so unsustainable.”

According to Fox, she “realized very quickly” that things weren’t going to work out between them.

“Ultimately, I cannot put anybody else first. My son has to be first,” she said. “It just became too much. I didn’t sign up to have two babies. I couldn’t do it. It felt like two babies.”
