Halloween is right around the corner, which means you’re likely in desperate need of an easy, last-minute, yet incredibly impressive costume. In our year 2023, I’m pleased to report there’s a perfect solution to your dilemma: Jury Duty.

Amazon Freevee‘s lightning-in-a-bottle mockumentary series (aka Decider’s top TV show of the year so far) holds serious inspiration for not one, not two, but at least 20 iconic, timely Halloween costumes that won’t just get the job done, they’ll also give people the impression you’re a wholesome, hilarious, delightful human with quality taste in television.

Featuring a meticulously-planned fake case, a courtroom full of actors, and one unsuspecting man, Ronald Gladden, there’s tons to love about Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky’s innovative docu-style series, including a major costume perk. Over the course of Jury Duty‘s eight episodes, the majority of its stars all wear normal, everyday clothes! A Halloween procrastinator’s dream!

Whether you’re looking for an exciting (albeit low-maintenance) solo costume, couples costume, or group costume, Jury Duty has something for everyone. With our help, a quick trip to your closet, and perhaps a cheap online shopping spree, you too will be looking like you served on one of the most chaotic juries Huntington Park Superior Court in Los Angeles County has ever seen.

From heroic polo prince Ronald Gladden and asshole James Marsden to Judge Rosen, Officer Nikki, and characters with more in-depth ensembles, here are 20 easy, brilliant Jury Duty-inspired Halloween costumes.

  1. Ronald Gladden From Jury Duty

If you want your costume to have the “awww” factor this Halloween, Ronald Gladden — solar panel contractor, corgi lover, Jury Duty foreperson, and America’s hero — is your guy. Pull on a polo and jeans to nail his pilot look. Grab a red Nike sweatshirt and grey shorts for a deep cut. Wear a Topgolf jacket or denim short-sleeved shirt if you have them handy. And if you’re really committed, you can search for his classic blue and white striped button-down (shown above). Pop a gold chain around your neck, grab A Bug’s Life DVD, and whatever you do, don’t forget your Juror #6 badge. Amazon’s Jury Duty merch also offers a Juror #6 shirt along with a selection of Ronald/hero-themed shirts to help you out.

  2. James Marsden As James Marsden From Jury Duty

We can’t imagine Jury Duty without James Marsden’s perfect performance as asshole James Marsden. So why not dress as the actor who played one of the series’ most crucial, hilarious roles? To nail his Day 1 conspicuous celeb look, grab a clipboard, wear all black, a jacket, some AirPods, and a plain black Succession-style cap. You can also throw on jeans, a white long-sleeve tee, a plaid shirt and carry around a CONFIDENTIAL Lone Pine script. Or if you want to go as Working Man Marsden, you can wear jeans and layer a white tee and short-sleeved shirt like he did for the big warehouse field trip. Need some props? Consider carrying a time card, a Sharpie and Blu-ray copy of Sex Drive, a cell phone, or an “It’s A Girl” cake. And don’t forget to sell your performance by yelling things like “Ally McBeal Season 5!” and “WHICH CHRIS?! Don’t say Chris Pine.” The official store also carries a Juror #14 shirt and several Lone Pine shirts for all your Marsden merch needs.

  3. Alan Barinholtz As Judge Alan Rosen From Jury Duty

Order in the court! Grab your gavel, robe, glasses, and tie, and prepare to dress like Alan Barinholtz’s essential Jury Duty character, the honorable Judge Alan Rosen. Want to wrap your hand for dramatic effect or wear a fedora like Judge Rosen did on the field trip? No one can stop you, all the balls are in your court.

  4. Edy Modica As Jeannie From Jury Duty

We dream of a Jeannie costume, because Edy Modica’s quirky character is one of Jury Duty‘s finest. To honor Jeannie’s pilot fit, you’ll need a pair of green sweatpants, a brown jacket, hoop earrings, blue eyeshadow, a moderately capacious bag (the cousin of Succession‘s ludicrously capacious bag), and a bag of Twix. Considering it’s Halloween, those shouldn’t be too difficult to find! Want some props? Consider a soda, butterfly clips, or a heart lollipop stuck to your chest. You can also wear a “Hug Me I’m 1/2 Italian” shirt or the Juror #4 tee in her honor.

  5. Mekki Leeper As Noah From Jury Duty

    Photo: Amazon Freevee

Sex Lives of College Girls fans, unite! Mekki Leeper’s Noah is another tame dresser who often wears a simple button-down shirt, striped tie, tan jacket, and “Christopher Robin glasses.” If you want to have a little more fun with this rideshare driver’s look, then loosen your tie, grab a drink, and dress like Margaritaville Noah. (Or just wear a Juror #11 shirt, of course.) And if you’re looking for a perfect Jury Duty couple’s costume, Noah and Jeannie are a match made in comedy heaven.

  6. Susan Berger As Barbara From Jury Duty

Another iconic Jury Duty costume? Susan Berger’s Barbara, queen of sleeping in court. Just grab a wig and a Juror #5 shirt and you’re all set. I recommend the “I’M AWAKE” version, but you can also put together Barbara’s tie-dye ensemble shown above, or wear a purple hoodie, a sweatshirt covered in flowers, or a nice patterned blouse.

  7. David Brown As Todd From Jury Duty

    Photo: Amazon Freevee

If it’s originality you seek, Jury Duty‘s Todd (played by David Brown) is a one-of-a-kind guy who can inspire a one-of-a-kind Halloween costume. To dress like this quality control assistant, consider fashioning your own water buffalo canteen backpack (so you can have a small water fountain with you all the time). You can wear a blue shirt, khaki pants, and a jacket. But Todd post-makeover is also an option, as long as you have hair gel, a “Members Only” jacket, and colorful sneakers. We’d skip the JORF shirt, but we wouldn’t say no to recreating Todd’s Margaritaville Hawaiian shirt look. And if you really want to commit to the bit…CHANTS. You know, Todd’s chair pants! Need something a bit simpler? Check out this chair pants ad t-shirt, a Todd-inspired knock note shirt, or a Juror #2 shirt.

  8. Maria Russell As Inez From Jury Duty

Maria Russell’s Inez De Leon, the direct marketing entrepreneur who had a soft spot for Ronald from the start, is another stellar Halloween costume choice. Grab a royal blue blazer, a Juror #10 shirt, a pink blazer, or a black blazer and cheetah print dress to serves as this courtroom fashion icon.

  9. Cassandra Blair As Vanessa From Jury Duty

Cassandra Blair’s Vanessa Jenkins is a healthcare administrator with style, so if you want to dress to impress, grab a blazer, a nice blouse, and some hoop earrings to embody her. And if all else fails, a Juror #8 shirt awaits.

  10. Kirk Fox As Pat From Jury Duty

Are you a fan of Community, Parks and Rec, or Reservation Dogs? Great news. You can dress as Kirk Fox’s character Pat McCurdy, a commercial driving instructor with a beard to help hide the fact that he’s Kirk Fox. You can grab a grey jacket and brown shirt to recreate Pat’s pilot look or invest in a Juror #1 shirt. Either way, make sure you have the beard. Very important.

  11. Ishmel Sahid As Lonnie From Jury Duty

Since you waited until the last minute to plan your Halloween costume, why not switch things up and dress as something you’re not: an event planner! Jury Duty‘s Lonnie Coleman (played by Ishmel Sahid) went from being an alternate to Juror #13, an essential part of the group. So grab a sweatshirt, a vest, a pair of thick-rimmed black glasses and celebrate this effortless star.

  12. Ross Kimball As Ross From Jury Duty

Want to feel like the life of the party this Halloween? Dress up as Jury Duty‘s birthday boy Ross, who had a cute little park party thrown in his honor. The character, played by Ross Kimball, loves all things Patagonia, so bust out a jacket or spring for the Juror #12 shirt.

  13. Lisa Gilroy As Genevieve Telford-Warren From Jury Duty

Decider’s said it before and we’ll say it again: Comedian Lisa Gilroy as social media brand ambassador Genevieve Telford-Warren is one of 2023’s streaming MVPs. Grab a periwinkle power suit, a white blouse, some gold necklaces, and a blonde wig if need be, and get ready to describe any skulls you encounter this Halloween as “bones with more bones, and then just the bones, and then bones with other bones.” (There are also several Genevieve-themed shirts for that.)

  14. Ron Song As Ken From Jury Duty

Our man Ken (Ron Song) looked extra sharp in Jury Duty‘s pilot sporting a grey suit, checkered shirt, and silky tie. To dress as this sweet small business owner, you can also enlist the help of a Juror #9 shirt and carry around your own Yut board game.

  15. Pramode Kumar As Ravi From Jury Duty

Jury Duty‘s singing data analyst Ravi, played by Pramode Kumar, is a simple dresser for most of the series, but DOES wear an exciting patterned sweater in an episode. Opt for a Juror #3 shirt or recreate one of Ravi’s courtroom looks. And whichever outfit you choose, don’t forget a mustache.

  16. Brandon Loeser As Tim From Jury Duty

Want to let the good people know you’re a genuine Jury Duty fan? Dress as Brandon Loeser’s Tim Smith, aka Juror #7, who was released from the trial early due to an injury we later saw was staged. Anyone can dress as Ronald Gladden, but only hardcore Jury Duty stans will think of Tim.

  17. Rashida Olayiwola As Officer Nikki Wilder From Jury Duty

(Bonus points if you have long, fabulous nails on the job.) Want to dress up with someone else? Have no fear. One of you can be Officer Christine Sugalski (Kerry O’Neill).

  18. Whitney Rice As Jacquiline Hilgrove And Trisha LaFache As Debra LaSeur From Jury Duty

Looking for another dynamic duo Jury Duty costume and in the mood to wear power suits with your bestie? Dress as Whitney Rice’s plaintiff character, Cinnamon and Sparrow owner Jacquiline Hilgrove or her counsel Debra LaSeur. And yes, the mech store has Cinnamon and Sparrow shirts.

  19. Evan Williams As Shaun Sanders And Ben Seaward As Trevor Morris From Jury Duty

Another perfect Jury Duty pair? Defendant Trevor Morris (Ben Seaward), a Cinnamon and Sparrow employee on trial, and his counsel Shaun Sanders (Evan Williams). Suit up, and grab a briefcase if you’re dressing as Shaun, and a long wig and mustache if you’re choosing Trevor. (He also wears a denim striped shirt and green tie later in the series if you crave a more casual look.)
