Behind Kelly Clarkson‘s hazel eyes, she’s frustrated over the NFL’s excessive coverage of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s relationship.

On today’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer sat down with Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang to talk about the new couple’s surprise appearance on the long-running sketch comedy show. While she thought it was “hilarious” how SNL was able to incorporate Swift and Kelce into a skit, she didn’t feel the same way about the NFL’s coverage.

“It’s not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now. It’s like you’re watching Housewives while you’re watching,” she said. “They’re just talking about gossip things and you’re like, ‘So what about the play?’ But they’re taking over.”

While Clarkson doesn’t think Swift and Kelce’s romance belongs on the NFL network, she felt as though SNL was the perfect outlet to discuss their budding love story.

“That’s what I love about SNL,” she said. “Y’all touch on it like, right then. It’s so awesome that you’re live and you’re able to attack those things on the weekends right when it happens. Thank them for fresh material.”

Meanwhile, Yang — who has been a Swiftie since the pop star released her “Red” album in 2012 — reflected on the “wild” moment he realized they were coming to the show.

“We didn’t expect them to come,” he said. “I round the corner, they’re at the page desk and I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s two of the tallest people I’ve ever seen. Who is that?’ I was like in the Redwood Forrest or something. And then I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness. Wow. It’s them. OK, they’re here.’ And it was wild.”

Clarkson isn’t the only one who would like the world to dial back on the hysteria. Kelce previously admitted on his New Heights podcast that the NFL might be “overdoing” the coverage of himself and Swift, who attended three of the Kansas City Chiefs player’s games before they officially stepped out as a couple at Saturday Night Live.

“I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching,” he said. “But at the same time, I think they’re overdoing it a little bit for sure. Especially my situation.”
