Is Mayim Bialik coming back to host Jeopardy? That’s the question at the top of everyone’s minds after the former co-host was featured in a promotional image for the show’s social media campaign alongside co-host Ken Jennings.

The official Jeopardy social media account shared a promotional image that showed both co-hosts ahead of #Jeoparween, which will feature “the spookiest categories to ever haunt The Alex Trebek Stage” on the show’s official YouTube and TikTok accounts leading up to Halloween.

The image says it’ll star Jennings, Bialik, and longtime Jeopardy announcer Johnny Gilbert. Though it’s still unclear if Bialik will be returning to the game show after she stepped away from hosting in May, seeing her again on social media sparked some mixed reactions from fans.

“Please please please have Mayim back. If not then just replace Ken with a good host,” one viewer wrote on X.

“You both are the best hosts ever. You honor Alex Trebek with your passion for the show,” a fan commented on Instagram.

“Can’t wait to have Mayim back!” another fan commented.

Others were not so happy to possibly have Bialik back on the show. “Mayim? Thanks for the warning,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“She should stay on strike. Unfollowing!” another added.

Bialik stepped away from hosting back in May in solidarity with the WGA strike. Though the WGA successfully reached a deal with the AMPTP in September, Bialik has not announced whether she will be returning to the show.

Season 40 has already kicked off with Jennings as the sole host. He also took over for Bialik as host of Celebrity Jeopardy.

Bialik and Jennings previously split up hosting duties in Season 39 until she stepped away in May. Jennings hosted Jeopardy from September 2022 to December 2022 while she hosted Celebrity Jeopardy, then she took over hosting the main show in 2023 until the WGA strike began and Jennings filled in for her for the remainder of the season.

Previous reports claimed she will not be returning to the show until the latter half of Season 40 airs in 2024.

Season 40 has resumed with no mention of the WGA strike or Bialik’s absence. In fact, promotional material for the new season did not include the actress at all.
