Meghan McCain is once again stirring the pot, but has seemed to change her target from The View moderators to reality TV personality Ariana Madix.

According to Entertainment Weekly, McCain was reminded of some past drama between herself and the Vanderpump Rules star while speaking with Carlos King on Tuesday’s (Oct. 23) episode of her new podcast, Meghan McCain Has Entered The Chat.

McCain — who left The View to become a Daily Mail columnist in 2021 — recalled attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April and seeing Madix and her VPR co-star Lala Kent, who were guests of the publication.

She greeted them and took a group picture with them and other stars such as Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn, which she had posted at the time. She shared that Madix had reposted the picture, likely from O’Connell’s Instagram, but cut McCain, her husband Ben Domenech, and her friends out of it, which she said she only learned when Page Six had requested comment from her about the incident.

“I was so confused and shocked, so I called my boss, and I was like, ‘FYI, this is causing unnecessary drama,” she continued. “Also, like, I didn’t even talk to her. What’s happening?”

She then “found out on accident” that Madix had blocked her on Instagram.

“I would’ve respected you if you just said, ‘I don’t f— with Republicans. I don’t like Meghan McCain’ — just say that,” she said. “Don’t come up with this weird story and then block me afterward.”

Describing the annual event as “a time for liberals and Republicans and everything in between, and journalists and entertainers to celebrate covering politics,” she claimed that Madix’s actions were “so mean for no reason.”

“I [hadn’t] experienced mean girl stuff like this in a really long time, and I don’t like it,” she said.

Decider reached out to Madix’s representative for comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.

Madix’s manager told Page Six in April that “there is no agenda with [the] post whether political or otherwise” and that “it’s just how the post came out,” and Madix herself tried to clear the air on her Instagram story, noting the “difference between a main feed and a zoomed IG story.”

“We all know how aspect ratios work,” she added.

At the time, McCain had told the outlet, “I had a wonderful time with Ariana, Lala and DailyMail.com. I can’t believe I’m commenting on something so ridiculous.”

On her podcast, McCain affirmed her “unpopular opinion” that she “felt bad for Raquel [Leviss] after the [VPR] reunion,” which she had previously expressed in a Daily Mail essay published in June. McCain had penned that she “found [her]self feeling more compassion for Raquel than Ariana” throughout Scandoval, when Madix’s beau of nine years, Tom Sandoval, had an affair with Leviss.
