Hoda Kotb And Jenna Bush Hager Gush Over Usher Serenading Them On ‘Today’: “Can You Tell That I’m Blushing?”

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager got Ushered on Wednesday’s (Nov. 1) broadcast of Today With Hoda & Jenna, and they enjoyed every second of it.

Usher paid the Today co-hosts a visit to talk about his upcoming Super Bowl Halftime performance, but Kotb and Bush Hager had one important question for the R&B singer about what he had planned for the show.

“Are you going to serenade up there on the stage?” Bush Hager asked him, referring to the now-viral videos of him serenading various guests at his ongoing residency at the Dolby Live in Las Vegas.

Usher replied, “In the Dolby Live it’s a little bit more of an intimate theater. The stadium probably makes it very hard to find one lady.”

The singer then reached behind him for two roses that had been hidden during their interview. “But right now I have two amazing, lucky ladies,” he told the Today co-hosts before adding, “Music, please.”

Usher then launched into a surprise serenade of his hit song “There Goes My Baby,” in which he gave the hosts a daytime television-safe version of the romantic serenading he’s become known for. Kotb and Bush Hager were giggling as he handed them their flowers and sang.

Kotb, who could not stop laughing during Usher’s performance, cheered for the singer once the romantic serenade was over. “Yes! We’re going to Vegas,” she said. “We are going to Vegas.”

An equally overwhelmed Bush Hager agreed, adding, “Can you tell that I’m blushing?”

The singer then joked that they had “been Ushered.”

“We’ve been Ushered and we’re never gonna be the same,” Bush Hager agreed.

The co-hosts later joked that they were going to dry the flowers he gave them and keep them “forever” in their journals. “Dear diary, Usher invited us to come to his show,” Kotb said as she pretended to jot it down in her diary.

Let’s hope that Kotb and Bush Hager will get to see him in Vegas so they can really get the full experience of his now-signature serenade.
