Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David‘s semi-fictionalized series about his own life, is one of the longest-running modern sitcoms. And as Curb approaches its 12th season, fans are wondering whether the upcoming installment will be its last.

At Thursday morning’s HBO programming presentation, HBO CEO Casey Bloys discussed the future of David’s show, explaining that the decision of when to wrap to is up to the creator himself, per Deadline.

“He knows it’s been an open invitation, so I think he’s going to decide if he wants to do more or whether this is going to be the final season, I would guess before it airs,” Bloys said.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter in March that the upcoming season would likely be Curb‘s last. Speculation surrounding the conclusion of the series spurred after one of its writers and producers, Jon Hayman, posted a (since-deleted) tweet featuring a picture of himself, David, and executive producer Jeff Schaffer with the following caption: “Maybe you love the show. Maybe you hate the show. Maybe you don’t give a shit. In any event, shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.”

Schaffer later clarified his post, seemingly back-tracking on his statement and telling Deadline that “reports of [their] demise have been greatly exaggerated,” and that the show had “literally just finished shooting” the week prior.
