Joy Behar Went Missing On Today’s Episode Of ‘The View’: Will She Be Back?

When The View kicked off this morning, we had to double check our calendars when we noticed that Joy Behar was absent from the Hot Topics table.

Behar, who typically takes off Monday shows, was missing from today’s episode, prompting us to wonder where the quippy co-host could be.

In her place, Ana Navarro filled in to co-host Thursday’s show, and she didn’t hold back, taking gleeful digs at Gov. Ron DeSantis and disgraced Congressman George Santos.

Why Is Joy Behar Missing From The View?

Behar is absent from the daytime talk show today while she preps for another engagement: her New York Comedy Festival shows. Whoopi Goldberg helpfully explained her absence today, telling the audience, “Joy is not here today because she’s preparing for the premiere of her play Bonkers in the Boroughs at the New York Comedy Festival,” and adding that they didn’t want Behar to be “stressed” about her show while co-hosting.

Navarro — Behar’s replacement for the day — gave a shout-out to her co-host, noting Behar’s accomplishments in creating the series of short plays: “She wrote it, she’s acting, she’s producing,” she said.

Behar herself weighed in on her absence on the Thursday episode of The View‘s Behind The Table podcast, saying, “I’m taking it off so I can concentrate on this other thing for two days. I’ll be back next week. I thought to myself, ‘It’s self-preservation, darling.'”

When Will Joy Behar Return To The View?

Goldberg did not share when Behar will return to the talk show, but her short plays are scheduled for Nov. 3 through Nov. 5. Decider can confirm that Behar will be missing today’s show, as well as the Friday (Nov. 4) episode of The View. Per Entertainment Weekly, Goldberg — who normally takes Fridays off — will fill in on tomorrow’s show while Behar is out.
