After four critically acclaimed seasons of The Boys, Gen V rose to the occasion and delivered a solid first season of co-ed supe drama.
The Prime Video series follows a group of students studying at Godolkin University, a Vought-owned college for superheroes that exists in the same universe as The Boys. The series focuses on a new generation of superheroes that idolize The Seven and are still unaware of Vought’s dark underbelly.
Starring Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars Jaz Sinclair and Chance Perdomo, as well as Lizze Broadway, London Thor and Derek Luh, Gen V introduces a new cast of superheroes that you can finally root for.
After a promising first season, should Gen V fans expect a second season from Prime Video? Here’s what we know.
Will there be a Gen V Season 2?
Fortunately for us, the show was swiftly renewed for a second season after its premiere. Prime Video announced on Oct. 19 that Gen V Season 2 is already in the works, meaning we should expect to see more of our new favorite supes in the near future.
Showrunner Michele Fazekas and executive producer Eric Kripke teased what to expect from the new season in a joint statement.
“We couldn’t be happier to make a second season of Gen V. These are characters and stories we’ve grown to love, and we are thrilled to know people feel the same!” they said, per Variety. “The writers are already working on the new season—sophomore year is gonna be wild, with all the twists, heart, satire, and exploding genitalia you’ve come to expect from the show.”

Gen V Season 1 takes place in the aftermath of The Boys Season 3, which saw Homelander unjustly kill a civilian. The spinoff series follows the young supes as they uncover the dark secrets of their university and unknowingly place their trust in a character from The Boys who we know to have ulterior motives.
Both shows have also hinted at a growing superhero rights movement that is pitting superheroes against each other.
The Gen V season finale, which airs on Prime Video today (Nov. 3), appears to directly lead into the next season of The Boys. For now, The Boys Season 4 is expected to release in early 2024.
All 10 episodes of Gen V are now streaming on Prime Video.
