Kelly Ripa Reveals That Mark Consuelos Was Named “Sexiest Morning Host” In ‘People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” Edition On ‘Live’: “I Couldn’t Agree More”

Patrick Dempsey might have been named People‘s “Sexiest Man Alive,” but the Grey’s Anatomy actor wasn’t the only one with an honorable mention.

On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Mark Consuelos blamed forgetting the upcoming Veteran’s Day on his pants, claiming, “These jeans are so tight, I can’t think.”

Kelly Ripa chimed in, “I guess that Mark is wearing those tight pants in honor of the People Magazine ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ edition,” pulling out a copy of the annual issue.

Consuelos pointed out that it wasn’t his face that graced the cover, but recalled that he “saw Patrick a couple weekends ago at the F1 Race.”

“I tried to approach him and I said, ‘He’s just too sexy!'” he exclaimed. “He’s a good-looking guy.”

Ripa asked, “Well, would you like to know who the ‘Sexiest Morning Host’ is? Cause you’re looking at him!”

She turned the page toward the camera to show Consuelos’ face gracing the page of the “Sexiest Man Alive Readers’ Choice Poll Results are 2023,” where he bested fellow morning hosts and runners up Craig Melvin (TODAY), George Stephanopoulos (Good Morning America), and Nate Burleson (CBS Mornings).

Consuelos, attempting to remain nonchalant, asked Ripa, “What’s it say?”

Donning her glasses to ensure that she read the quote “directly,” Ripa read the blurb right from the pages of People.

“Who needs a morning cup of coffee to start the day when the Live with Kelly and Mark star (who kicked off his cohosting stint in April) is stripping down to try an onscreen cold plunge or sharing steamy details of his love life with wife Kelly Ripa?” she read. “Is that what you do here?”

Consuelos quipped, “I don’t share anything!”

With respect to her husband’s new title, Ripa said, “I couldn’t agree more.” However, she wasn’t done just yet.

“But wait, there’s more!” she told the Live audience, turning the page to the “Sexiest Man Alive: Then and Wow” section.

“For a second year in a row, our oldest son, Michael Consuelos, is back in the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ issue!”

Ripa pointed out that her son was placed next to Anderson Cooper in the section, where they include pictures of each individual as “just mere babies,” alongside a picture of them “growing up to be sexy.”

Consuelos described him and his son’s simultaneous feature as “double Consuelos,” as Ripa continued pointing out other stars like Jimmy Kimmel and Jeremy Allen White who were featured with her son.

“Look at these children who grew up to be sexy people!” she joked. “Just remember, America and Canada, your children right now — who refuse to pick their things up off the floor — could one day grow up to be very sexy!”

While both co-hosts deemed that “a sweet thought,” Ripa had one final point.

“And yes, your husband too, could grow up to be sexy!”
