Nicolas Cage is back on the big screen for A24‘s Dream Scenario, which is coming to theaters this week. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this new comedy!
The movie follows Paul Matthews (Cage), a family man who is forced to navigate newfound fame after he starts appearing in millions of peoples’ dreams.
So, where can you watch Dream Scenario? Is it on Prime Video? What about Netflix?
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:
WHERE TO WATCH A24’S DREAM SCENARIO:
As of now, the only way to watch Dream Scenario is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, Nov. 10. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon.
WHEN WILL A24’S DREAM SCENARIO BE STREAMING? WILL A24’S DREAM SCENARIO BE ON PRIME VIDEO?
While a digital release date for Dream Scenario has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate about when it will land on digital platforms like Prime Video based on another A24 movie. Talk to Me, which was released in theaters on July 28, became available to rent or purchase on Sept. 12 — about 45 days after it debuted.
If Dream Scenario follows the same trajectory, you might be able to watch from the comfort of your home as early as December 2023.
UPDATE 12/29/23: Dream Scenario officially became available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon on Friday, Dec. 22.
WILL A24’S DREAM SCENARIO BE ON MAX?
UPDATE 12/6/23: Yes, Dream Scenario will be on Max (previously known as HBO Max) as the result of a new multiyear deal between Warner Bros. Discovery and A24 that gives the company access to all of the indie studio’s theatrical releases.
While there is no official streaming release date yet, Blue Beetle, another Warner Bros. movie, was released in theaters on Aug. 18 and didn’t make its way to Max until Nov. 17 — about three months after it debuted. If Dream Scenario follows the same trajectory, it’s possible we won’t be able to stream it until mid-February 2024.
UPDATE 3/7/24: Dream Scenario will become available on Max on March 15.
WILL A24’S DREAM SCENARIO BE ON NETFLIX?
No, Dream Scenario will not be on Netflix. However, it is possible that it will make it to the streaming giant eventually seeing as Netflix was once home to other A24 movies like Uncut Gems. Until then, you’ll just have to head out to theaters or wait until it becomes available on digital.
