Prison has been difficult for Chrisley Knows Best star Todd Chrisley. Back in July, it was reported that he was struggling with the “terrible living conditions” at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, where he’s serving a 12-year sentence for fraud.

This week, Todd’s daughter Savannah Chrisley claimed that after she began advocating for better prison conditions for her parents (her mother Julie Chrisley is also serving a seven-year sentence in Kentucky), they were retaliated against by prison guards.

Savannah’s Instagram account has essentially become a platform to chronicle the alleged abuses and mistreatment her parents have suffered at the hands of the board of corrections and the guards at their respective prisons, and she claims that her parents are now suffering as a result of her outspoken nature.

“That’s been the toughest part. More so for Dad,” Savannah said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “There’s been a lot of retaliation, so we have to worry [about him].

“Right now they’re trying to move him from the facility he’s at now, because of the latest things that I’ve posted on Instagram,” she continued. “And that’s the tough part — the moment you start speaking out, you have to pay for it.”

The retaliation that Savannah details allegedly includes guards preventing her father from speaking to his lawyers on the phone, and emptying his commissary account.

“That’s their way of retaliating against these men for speaking out,” she claimed. “They’re literally going to starve them to death.”

Savannah says her dad is happy that she’s advocating for him and he doesn’t want her to back down, explaining, “He and I have had the discussion [and] his exact words were, ‘If I have to be uncomfortable in order to hopefully implement and force change, then I’m willing to do it.'”

Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted in June 2022 for bank fraud, tax evasion and conspiring to defraud the IRS. Todd was given a 12 year sentence, while Julie, who was also convicted of wire fraud and obstruction of justice, was sentenced to seven years.
