Travis Barker seems like a nice guy, so what could possibly make anyone want to punch him in the throat? Well, for The View co-host Sunny Hostin, the punching point would come if he played the drums while in the hospital delivery room.

Last week, while Barker’s wife Kourtney Kardashian was waiting for their son Rocky to be born at the hospital, the Blink-182 musician posted a video of himself to TikTok drumming as he sat in the delivery room.

“Practicing to my babies [sic] heartbeat,” he captioned the short clip.

After The View‘s panelists watched the video of Barker’s rapid-fire drum beats, they all shared their initial reactions, most of which were disapproving.

“When you’re pushing out a six-pound baby, do you really want a Ringo Starr concert?” Joy Behar asked after watching the video.

“If that’s the baby’s heartbeat… they should be medically concerned,” Ana Navarro also joked, before adding that Kardashian had no issues with the drum session, and she even reposted the video to her own account.

Hostin responded, “If she likes it, I love it for her. I personally would have wanted to punch him in the throat. Because when you’re in labor and you’re birthing, you need, like, zen.”

She continued, “You’re going through a lot of emotions, you may be going through a lot of pain, your epidural may not have worked yet… I just remember my son, for his third birthday, got a drum, and I wanted to die. It’s so loud, it’s not calming, but I love it for her if she loves it.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin added that, as a Blink-182 superfan, she “would never dare to criticize one of the greatest drummers of all time, except for in the delivery room,” adding that the only thing worse than having your husband play drums while you’re in labor is having your husband wear a GoPro during delivery.

Sara Haines, ever the voice of reason, then added that she just appreciates that Barker was awake.

“My husband slept through all three babies,” she said.
