If you’re ready to welcome our artificial intelligence overlords with open arms, then you should know that the 2023 movie The Creator is coming to digital platforms tomorrow.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Weitz, The Creator is a dystopian sci-fi thriller set 70 years in the future, where AI are waging a war to eliminate all humans on earth. Seems a lot more likely on this side of Chat GPT, right?

John David Washington stars as an ex-military Sergeant, recruited by a colonel (Allison Janney) to destroy a new, AI-developed weapon. But along the way, Washington discovers AI might not be as bad as he thought. Also starring Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, and Sturgill Simpson, The Creator first opened in theaters on September 29, and is now releasing on digital platforms tomorrow. But when will The Creator movie be available on streaming? Read on for all the info.

Is The Creator movie streaming?

The Creator will be available to purchase on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu, Apple TV, YouTube, and more beginning tomorrow, November 14. The movie will be available to buy only, and will not be available to rent at this time. After you buy the film, you will be able to watch it online.

The Creator will also release on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on December 12. A 55-minute bonus feature, True Love: Making The Creator, will be available exclusive to the Blu-ray release. We also expect to see The Creator streaming on Hulu or Disney+ eventually. Read on to learn more.

When will The Creator movie be streaming on Hulu?

The Creator will most likely be streaming on Hulu eventually, given that it’s a 20th Century Studios release. Most of the titles from 20th Century Studios, which is now owned by Disney, end up on Hulu, including recent 2023 theatrical releases like The Boogeyman and A Haunting in Venice. But the release pattern has varied: The Boogeyman came to Hulu about four months after opening in theaters, while A Haunting in Venice began streaming on Hulu about six weeks, or 45 days, after opening in theaters.

A Disney representative told Decider that “The Creator will not be coming to Hulu this month,” so it won’t be following the same release as A Haunting in Venice. While that could mean the movie will be on Hulu next month, if it’s following the same release pattern as The Boogeyman, you may not see The Creator on Hulu until January 2024.

Even though The Creator is not a kid’s movie, it’s also possible that Disney will release The Creator on its other streaming service, Disney+, rather than on Hulu, given that Disney CEO Bob Iger has said the two apps will merge into one by the year’s end. We’ll have to wait and see. For now, you can buy The Creator on digital platforms, beginning tomorrow.
