Michael Strahan has made his triumphant return to Good Morning America. The co-anchor was back in the studio this morning after a weeks-long absence from GMA.

Strahan was reunited with Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee, who all celebrated his first day back since Oct. 26.

“Can I just say we have tears of joy because Michael is back here at the desk,” Roberts said, to which Strahan responded, “It is great to back with both of you.”

The team did not further address Strahan’s time away from the show, and instead swiftly moved right to the day’s trending topics.

GMA fans have been searching for Strahan — who was missing for nearly three weeks — since he first started missing shows last month. While GMA did not share why, specifically, Strahan was absent, a spokesperson from ABC told People he was missing shows for personal reasons.

“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters,” the spokesperson told People last week. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”

Entertainment Tonight reported a similar reason for Strahan’s long break from GMA.

“Michael is a huge presence at GMA, and his absence is definitely felt,” a source told the publication in a report published earlier today. “He’s universally adored. Everyone wishes him the best as he deals with personal family matters. The hope is for him to get back to work soon.”

While Strahan was missing from GMA the last two weeks, he did recently return to Fox NFL Sundays, where he was back on the show last Sunday (Nov. 12). He typically misses Monday episodes of GMA to film Fox NFL Sundays, which is based in Los Angeles.

We’re happy to see Strahan back and smiling on GMA, and hope he doesn’t stray too far again!

Good Morning America airs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET on ABC.
