‘Euphoria’ Producer Kevin Turen Died After Suffering Medical Emergency While Driving His Young Son: Report

More details have surfaced about Euphoria producer Kevin Turen’s sudden death at age 44. According to a new TMZ report, Turen died Sunday (Nov. 12) after suffering a medical emergency while driving in the car with his young son.

Kevin’s father, Edward Turen, and close friend, Michael Heller, told the outlet that the producer was driving his 10-year-old son home from a tennis tournament when the medical emergency occurred. His Tesla was reportedly on autopilot at the time of the incident, leaving his son to navigate the car to the side of the California freeway before calling 911.

Kevin was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

While an official cause of death has not yet been determined, Edward and Heller both said there were no drugs or alcohol involved.

“Kevin was so incredibly special, this world is going to be less without him,” Edward shared in a statement to Deadline.

Kevin got his start in the industry in 2005 after graduating from Columbia University with a degree in English and Critical Film Studies. He produced movies like The Birth of a Nation, That Awkward Moment and Assassination Nation, before co-founding Little Lamb Productions with Sam Levinson and Ashley Levinson in 2018.

Aside from producing several episodes of Euphoria and The Idol, Kevin also worked on Levinson’s 2021 Netflix drama Malcolm & Marie, which starred Zendaya and John David Washington.

“Despite his many achievements in Hollywood, Kevin’s greatest passion was his family and friends,” Jay Penske, Penske Media Corporation CEO and Kevin’s close friend, said in a statement, per TMZ. “He was so proud of his children. He and his wife, Evelina, were resolved that their children grow up with great values and ensured they make a difference in the broader world.”

Kevin is survived wife Evelina Turen, and their two sons, Jack and James.
