Kelly Ripa Reacts To Taika Waititi And Rita Ora Staying In Replica Of Shrek’s House And Dressing Up As Shrek And Fiona On ‘Live’: “I Suspected You Guys Were Fun And A Little Freaky”

Taika Waititi may have just proved that he and his wife Rita Ora are Hollywood’s most “fun and freaky” couple.

On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the Next Goal Wins director told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos about the “amazing experience” they had in a unique residence.

“Airbnb does these pop-up stay experiences,” he said. “Rita just happened to be looking online and she stumbled across an article, and she said, ‘Oh, Taika, I know what we’re doing in a couple of weeks.’ And she found that they had made a replica of Shrek’s house — in the middle of nowhere in Scotland.”

Viewers were then shown footage from their stay, featuring “the giant tree where [Shrek] lives,” which Ora then entered — in a full Fiona costume and make-up.

Consuelos exclaimed, “You guys dressed up!” as Waititi was revealed in complete Shrek garb. Ripa chimed in, “Are you kidding me? Is this real?”

After Waititi confirmed that the footage was indeed real, Consuelos asked if the costumes came with the house, which Waititi denied.

“We went all the way to Scotland to stay there, and then she revealed the costumes,” he shared. “She forced me to dress up as Shrek.”

However, he said they had fun, explaining that they took photos at the house and made “a real Halloween thing of it.”

Ripa quipped, “I suspected you guys were fun, and like, you know, a little freaky, but I had no idea what I was dealing with! No idea at all!”
