While social media trolls were questioning Ryan Murphy for casting Kim Kardashian in American Horror Story: Delicate, Salma Hayek was in full support of the decision.

On the latest episode of The Kardashians Season 4 — titled “Not Forgotten, Not Forgiven” — Kardashian opens up about her latest career venture while running lines with Scott Disick. At the time the scene was shot, the Skims founder was gearing up to film three episodes a week for four months in New York City.

“I like my character. I’m this publicist,” Kardashian explains in her confessional. “She’s an ‘I don’t give a fuck’ kind of girl. She just has, like, no emotion.”

She then says she’s “channeling” her chief brand office Tracy Romulus and her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian.

Despite her excitement to star opposite Emma Roberts on the hit horror anthology series, Kardashian couldn’t help but notice the backlash she received since the part didn’t go to a “real actress” like Hayek, whom she later reached out to for advice.

“I said to her, like, ‘Oh my god. What did I get myself into? I feel bad.’ And she’s like, ‘Do not feel bad. Maybe this whole road has led you here because you are supposed to be an actress and this is your real career,'” Kardashian recalls in the episode. “And I’m like, ‘You are right, Salma Hayek.’ And then I was like, ‘Can we play sisters in something? Because you are my idol.'”

Like most of her endeavors, the ever-busy Kardashian nailed her role as publicist Siobhan Corbyn, according to Decider’s own Raven Brunner, who wrote, “Kardashian impresses in the role. Is she great? Not quite. But she’s good — especially for this being one of her first roles where she isn’t parodying herself.”

Other social media users agreed, with one praising her for “how comfortable” she was in an acting role, while another said she “exceeded everyone’s expectations.”

When the news first broke that Kardashian would be joining the AHS family, Murphy — who co-created the show back in 2011 — gushed over her highly anticipated role.

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” he said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture.”

New episodes of The Kardashians air every Thursday on Hulu, while American Horror Story: Delicate is currently streaming on the same platform.
