Jamie Lynn Spears Blasted For Crediting Her Mom For Getting Her Into Music On ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’: “She Owes A Lot To Her Sister”

Jamie Lynn Spears is back in hot water after she failed to credit Britney Spears for her fame on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.

In a teaser for the Survivor-like British reality show, Jamie Lynn says she’s “best known for being an actress and a singer.” She adds that she’s been doing it since she could walk — but doesn’t mention that she’s also known for being the younger sister of Britney, who is otherwise known as the Princess of Pop.

The Zoey 101 alum further avoids name-dropping her sister when her fellow castmates prod her about her “musical family” in a separate clip. According to Jamie Lynn — who says she has always enjoyed “writing and singing” — she got into music because her mom, Lynne Spears, “played the piano a lot” when she was growing up.

That didn’t sit too well across social media, where users were quick to point out that the actress should be owing a lot more of her success to Britney.

“I had no idea she was famous in her own right to be honest. I genuinely thought she was just Britney’s sister,” one wrote, while another added, “She needs to humble herself and realize she owes a lot to her sister.”

A third posted, “I mean there must be a parallel world where we all know the legendary Lynne Spears as one of the most influential Pianists the world has ever seen. Can’t think of another reason JL would say that.”

Someone else fumed, “Typical Back Stabbing ‘Sister.’ She’s so bitter. And her heart is full of hate towards Britney. You can tell.”

While they were once close, the two sisters have endured a fraught relationship ever since Britney’s conservatorship was lifted back in 2021. The “Baby One More Time” singer previously blasted Jamie Lynn on social media for performing remixes to her songs at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, adding that her “so-called support system hurt [her] deeply.” The child actress further came under scrutiny after Britney accused Jamie Lynn of trying to sell her memoir, Things I Should Have Said, at her “expense.”

Still, Jamie Lynn — who has recently appeared on shows like Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and Dancing with the Stars — has maintained that she has only ever “loved, adored, and supported” her sister.
