Chuck Lorre‘s reign at CBS is slowly coming to an end. Not long after it was announced that Young Sheldon was canceled, the network revealed that Bob Hearts Abishola will also end following its upcoming fifth season.

The sitcom first premiered on CBS in 2019. It follows Bob (Billy Gardell), a successful businessman who falls in love with his Nigerian nurse, Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku), after a minor heart attack lands him in the hospital.

Bob Hearts Abishola is about an unlikely love story, but also the premise that immigrants make America great,” executive producers Gina Yashere, Matt Ross and Lorre said in a statement to Variety. “We’ve loved bringing these stories to life and are excited for fans to see the final chapter of these two families, and the incredible work of this talented cast and crew.”

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, further promised to celebrate the success of Bob Heart Abishola by giving fans the “most amazing episodes” when it returns for its final season next year.

The show was created by Lorre, who helmed other CBS series like Young Sheldon, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. With both Young Sheldon and Bob Hearts Abishola going off the air, this marks the first time since 2003 that Lorre hasn’t had at least one show on the network, per Variety.

However, the outlet reports that it’s not much of a surprise that the series coming to an end. Ahead of the upcoming fifth season, Gardell and Olowofoyeku were the only two actors who were named as series regulars, while the rest of the cast was reduced to recurring roles due to budget cuts.

While Lorre’s future at CBS remains unclear, he is still keeping busy with his Max show Bookie, which stars Charlie Sheen and Sebastian Maniscalco.

Bob Hearts Abishola Season 5 begins airing on Monday, Feb. 12 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
