Drew Barrymore is staying tight-lipped about whether or not she’s engaged to Pauly Shore. Nearly one month after the Encino Man star popped the question on The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress-turned-talk show host refused to reveal her answer.

The topic came up at the start of this morning’s episode of Barrymore’s self-titled daytime talk show when her Drew’s News guest (and pop culture aficionado) Danny Pellegrino bluntly asked what was going on in her love life.

“Danny, you’ve gotten me to admit things I never would admit elsewhere. You dive right into the question,” Barrymore said, to which Pellegrino quickly replied, “Are you engaged now?”

According to the author, his mom — who was in the audience — was wondering if Barrymore had accepted Shore’s marriage proposal.

“My mom was just asking me. She’s like, ‘You gotta find that out,'” Pellegrino said, before Barrymore slyly told the audience, “If it’s a mystery, let it remain a mystery.”

On the Nov. 3 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Shore — who admitted that he’s not in a relationship because he’s “scared to get hurt” — told Barrymore that his mom was “not happy” when the actress married Tom Green, and thought she should’ve married Shore instead.

The Jam in the Van Show host then pulled out a ring and proposed to Barrymore, who couldn’t give an answer as it was time for the show to end. Instead, she told viewers to tune in the next day to see how she responded.

However, Entertainment Weekly soon learned that The Drew Barrymore Show would not actually air a resolution to the bit. Still, Shore joked that he and Barrymore were planning their future together.

“We’re in the middle of spending private time together, figuring out where we want to go for our honeymoon and where we want to plan the wedding — either New York or LA,” he told EW through a representative. “But we might just compromise, meet in the middle and do Texas — cause that’s what marriage [is] about, compromise.”

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays on CBS. You can check the website for local airtimes.
