Kelly Ripa Mysteriously Absent From ‘Live’ For Second Time This Week: When Will She Be Back?

Live with Kelly and Mark kicked off December without Kelly Ripa. The cheery co-host was absent this morning, marking the second time she’s missed an episode in one week. Once again, the morning show’s announcer Déjà Vu replaced Ripa at the co-host desk alongside Mark Consuelos.

On Wednesday (Nov. 29), Consuelos shared that Ripa had lost her voice in what he said was laryngitis.

“She’s just resting a little,” he told viewers, ultimately claiming that he was “sure she’ll get better soon.”

While Ripa returned yesterday (Nov. 30) and appeared to be in good health, she was missing this morning. Unlike Wednesday, there was no mention of the reason for Ripa’s absence during this morning’s host chat.

Decider has reached out to Live for comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.

With his wife missing, Consuelos kept the show going, giving an update on their home’s holiday decor.

“Are you ready?” he asked Déjà, referring to the start of the holiday season.

Déjà replied, “Yeah, we have our lights up, our trees up. I’m ready.”

Consuelos noted that he and Ripa’s decorations are “staged” as of now.

Both Déjà and Consuelos noted that in terms of the holidays, Ripa “goes all out,” while Consuelos quipped, “I just say yes!”

Déjà noted that’s “probably the best move.”

Afterwards, Déjà and Consuelos welcomed guests Julianne Moore and Sir Patrick Stewart onto the show, as well as Chris Byrne “The Toy Guy,” who along with the two co-hosts, demonstrated some exciting toys to keep on your radar while shopping for gifts this holiday season.

While we don’t know if Ripa will return on Monday, viewers can expect guests Elle Fanning and Eric Stonestreet to appear.
