Former Jackass star Bam Margera has been granted monitored visitations with his son, Phoenix, after a tumultuous year of legal battles.

TMZ reports Margera will be able to visit his son with a professional supervisor in Southern California, where he lives with Margera’s estranged ex-wife, Nicole “Nikki” Boyd.

The former MTV star told TMZ that he hasn’t seen his son “for well over 200 days now,” though they have kept in touch over the phone. He claims he’s prepared to visit during the holidays and Phoenix’s birthday after having reportedly spent about $5,000 on presents for him.

David Glass, Boyd’s attorney, told the outlet that they haven’t been informed of Margera’s plans to visit yet.

This news comes after Margera reportedly hit 120 days of sobriety, a major milestone for the embattled reality star. When he hit one month of sobriety, TMZ reported that he had even got back into skateboarding and working out while living on a farm in Philadelphia.

Margera had previously been arrested twice this year and placed on a 5150 psych hold after making threats to his family and estranged wife.

He was placed in a mental health facility earlier this summer after he threatened to abuse crack cocaine until he died if Boyd did not allow him to see their son. Boyd was then given temporary legal and physical custody of Phoenix. However, Margera was still allowed to keep in touch, though he was limited to four FaceTime calls per week, per TMZ.

He also released an incendiary diss track that showed him bashing his former Jackass co-stars Steve-O, Johnny Knoxville and series creator Jeff Tremaine.
