T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach‘s “year of hell” since getting ousted at ABC over their affair was made a little easier with the help of friends like The View co-host Sara Haines. However, the couple now fears that Haines’ unwavering support for them might land her in hot water with the network, too.

On the debut episode of their Amy & T.J. podcast, which premiered on Tuesday (Dec. 5),  Holmes and Robach credited their family and “tight circle of friends” for helping them get through the “really tough stuff” since getting fired from GMA3 over their scandal.

“You know who your friends are and you definitely find out who your friends aren’t in these types of moments,” Robach said. “One of the people who started and wouldn’t stop texting me even when I didn’t respond? Sara Haines, she was an absolute pleasure.”

Holmes chimed in to joke that ABC, which also airs The View, is “probably going to fire her” after the podcast drops —  and Robach shared the same concern.

“I think it’s positive, but maybe it won’t be positive for her,” she noted. “You also worried [that] being connected to us might also bring you down. So I don’t want to necessarily do that, but she was incredible. She and I have been friends for 15 years. We go all the way back to NBC. “

Haines, for one, doesn’t seem too worried about her friendship with Robach threatening her spot at The View’s Hot Topics table. When a fan on social media asked her earlier this week if she was still friends with the ex-reporter, she proudly replied, “Abso-friggin-lutely!!!” along with a heart emoji.

“Honestly, for someone who still works at that network to keep checking in, keep calling, to actually be seen in public with me, that is a statement, that is something,” Robach said. “It shows incredible support.”

Haines first joined The View between 2016 and 2018, before going on to co-host GMA3 alongside Michael Strahan and Keke Palmer. When the show hired Robach and Holmes to take over as its lead anchors in 2020, Haines went back over to The View, where she has remained ever since.
