Chevy Chase is decking the falls this year. The actor was wheeled out onto the stage just prior to taking part in Q&A following a screening of his iconic 1989 Christmas comedy, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at Shea’s Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, New York on Wednesday night (Dec. 6), per TMZ.

Chase — who fortunately was alright after the incident — was standing up and beginning to walk toward the audience when he stepped right off the front of the stage.

In a video shared by the outlet, his wife Jayni Chase helped him up, escorting him back onto the stage.

Members of the audience told TMZ that he was icing his knee with an icepack throughout the Q&A, and sources close to Chase shared that he is doing OK, other than having a “bruised knee.”

While the crowd applauded him once he stood up, they also burst into laughter after the 80-year-old Saturday Night Live alum informed them that his AppleWatch was “talking to [him].”

“It says, ‘I see you’ve taken a great fall!'” he exclaimed.

Decider reached out to Chase’s manager and publicist for additional comment about the incident, but did not hear back in time of publication.

His representative told the New York Post that his fall was “just a little boo-boo.”

“He took a fall at the part of the stage that was not lit well, but thanks to all his falls on SNL, it was like riding a bike again,” the rep said.

According to People, Chase — who played Griswold family patriarch, Clark — is set to appear at Christmas Con in Edison, New Jersey this weekend alongside his Christmas Vacation co-stars Beverly D’Angelo (Ellen Griswold), Randy Quaid (Cousin Eddie), and Juliette Lewis (Audrey Griswold).

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is streaming on Hulu and Max.
