An autopsy report for General Hospital star Billy Miller has been completed, revealing the cause of death and how the actor was discovered by authorities.

The autopsy report, which was obtained by People, claims the actor was discovered in his bathtub “with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.” He reportedly had “a revolver chambered for .410 shotgun shells” in his hand, and “multiple letters indicating suicidal intent” at the scene of his death.

The report also states that Miller had a blood alcohol level of 0.08 and cocaine in his system at the time of death.

The Emmy Award-winning actor passed away on Sept. 15 at the age of 43, just days before his 44th birthday.

After his death, Miller’s manager, Marnie Sparer, and his mother, Patricia Miller, stated that he had “surrendered his life” after “a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression.”

“He did everything he could to control the disease,” Patricia said in a statement shared on X.

The actor was honored by many former co-stars and friends, including Chrishell Stause and Suits star Gabriel Macht.

Stause penned a message to the late actor on his birthday. “Too many feelings,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “But you are gone way too soon and I’m so happy I got to work with you all those years, but also call you a friend. I hope you are at peace now.”

Stause and Miller crossed paths while starring in All My Children until Stause left the soap in 2011. Miller later left in 2014 to begin his run on General Hospital.

But Miller continued acting outside of soap operas. He had a small recurring role on Suits, playing Macht’s brother.

Macht penned his own message to his “tv bro” on social media after hearing the news. “I am touched by ur thoughtfulness, ur authentic honest approach 2 ur art, ur kind nature & big smile that Litt us all,” he wrote. “May ur memory always be a blessing to ur Mother, ur Sister & her children. & 2 so many you’ve touched.”

The Young and the Restless also remembered the actor with a touching tribute aired during an episode one week after his death. He had starred on the soap opera from 2008 to 2014 in over 700 episodes, during which he earned three Emmy Awards for his role as Billy Abbott.

Prior to his death, Miller had began appearing in other network dramas, such as Truth Be Told, The Rookie, and NCIS.
