New evidence pertaining to Jonathan Majors‘ assault case was released on Wednesday (Dec. 13) as the trial continues into its second week.

Majors was arrested in March after his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari accused him of assault and harassment. They allegedly got into an argument in the back of a cab after she saw he received a romantic text message from another woman. TMZ reported at the time that he allegedly slapped her and “put his hands around her neck” during the incident. He is also accused of twisting her arm.

Rolling Stone reports that the new surveillance footage from that evening appears to show Majors picking Jabbari up and shoving her back into the car. Further video from that evening shows them getting in and out of the car several more times, as well as an interaction Jabbari had with strangers in which she appeared to be panicking.

Photos that she took of her own injuries and from the police also showed her bruised middle finger and a gash behind her ear.

During her testimony, Jabbari recalled an incident in September 2022 where Majors became upset with her after she went out with a friend while he was filming Loki in London. Voice recordings provided in court show the Marvel actor raising his voice at her, telling her he is “a great man… doing great things” who needed “a great woman,” such as Coretta Scott King of Michelle Obama.

“How dare you come home drunk and disturb the peace of our house when we have a plan?” he says on the recording. Rolling Stone reports that Jabbari can also be heard apologizing on the recording as he speaks.

“Grace has to be in a certain mindset, to support — Coretta Scott King, do you know who that is? That’s Martin Luther King’s wife. Michelle Obama, Barack Obama’s wife,” he says. “Let me just lay it out for you. I’m just gonna say this — my temper, my shit, my [indiscernible] blah blah blah — all that said, I’m a great man. A great man. I am doing great things, not just for me but for my culture and for the world. That is actually the position I’m in. That’s real. I’m not being a dick about it. I didn’t ask for it. I’ve worked and that’s the situation.”

He continues, “The woman that supports me — that I support — needs to be a great woman and make sacrifices the way that man is making for her and for them ultimately. Last night, two nights ago, you did not do that. You did not do that, which took away from the plan. And the plan is everything.”

This comes after text messages were presented in court that show the Marvel actor trying to convince her not to seek medical attention for a head injury she sustained. The text messages appeared to show Majors admitting to physical violence against her.

“I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go to the hospital,” he wrote to her. “They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to an investigation even if you do lie, and they suspect something.”

Jabbari wrote back, “I will tell the doctor I bumped my head if I go. I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep and I need some stronger pain killers. That’s all: why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you?”

Majors could face up to a year in jail if convicted on the four misdemeanor charges of assault and aggravated harassment.
