It’s been two months since Whoopi Goldberg called out Rachel Bilson for “bitching” about a man’s sexual inexperience — and now, The O.C. actress is crediting The View host’s tirade for causing a spike in interest in her Broad Ideas podcast.

While chatting on a recent episode of Bill Maher‘s Club Random podcast, Bilson looked back on her public feud with Goldberg, who put her on blast during an October episode of The View. According to Bilson, the co-host’s comments “almost felt like shaming in a weird way.”

“I normally don’t respond when I get called out for things,” Bilson said. “But then again it’s like, ‘Alright, well, if you’re talking about my podcast and I said something, let me respond. Because it’s just going to bring more people to maybe hear the conversation in the first place.'”

Maher then joked, “You should be sending them a fruit basket,” to which Bilson added, “I should be sending Whoopi a fucking Christmas present is what I should be doing!”

The Hart of Dixie star initially came under fire when she claimed it was  “a little weird” for a man in his forties to have “only slept with four women” on an episode of her podcast. However, she later walked back her statement, saying it was “not fair” for her to be judgmental.

While replying to only the first part of the conversation on The View, Goldberg tore into the actress.

“I think it’s very odd that you’re concerned that he’s had sexual partners — any sexual partner, why is it your business? It’s not your business,” Goldberg said at the time. “Listen, men traditionally were taught to have many sexual partners. That was how it was. Men could go and do whatever they wanted to do and women were not supposed to.”

Goldberg continued, “Now that has been shifting … and now you mad! I don’t understand. If he’s happy with you and you’re having a good time, why are you bitching?”

Before opening up about their beef on Club Random, Bilson fired back at Goldberg for not listening to the entire conversation in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“Whatever’s out there, a clickbait comment, if you go on to listen to the conversation as a whole, and hear what I have to say, it actually isn’t what was first presented,” she said shortly after The View episode about her comments aired. “I think it’s important to hear a whole conversation before casting your own judgment or criticism on something.”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
