The actor’s rep, Jennifer Garland, said he passed away from natural causes in Los Angeles on Nov. 28, per Entertainment Weekly.

“I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with him in his last years, as he had no immediate family,” she said in a statement to the outlet. “We spent much time outdoors, where Jack loved to sketch, read news articles, and recite Shakespearean sonnets.”

Born in 1930, Axelrod served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany from 1953 to 1955, before later earning an architecture degree from the University of California Berkeley and becoming an architect in Washington State, per Variety.
